In the Brecon Beacons National Park

Penlan Bach is well situated on the South bank of the River Usk and on the edge of Llangynidr village, just off the A40 between Brecon and Abergavenny, and 4 miles West of Crickhowell

Easily accessible however you travel

By Plane

Our nearest airport is Cardiff International which is one and a half hours away, Birmingham Airport is two hours, and London Heathrow is two and a half hours. Guests arriving by air can be met by our local taxi service, which we can highly recommend. The capitol of Wales, Cardiff, is an hour away, and Bristol is one and a half hours by car. There is a limited bus service to Llangynidr from both Brecon and Abergavenny.

Despite the rural and tranquil location we enjoy it is still easy to get to us as we are well served by road and rail.

By Road

From Abergavenny take the A40 westwards and travel through Crickhowell. About eleven miles from Abergavenny turn left onto B4560 and drive downhill. Cross the river bridge and Penlan is the first house on the left. Turn into the little lane at the side of the house and the entrance to Penlan Bach is on your left. Parking is in front of the garage.

From Brecon travel east along the A40 and through the village of Bwlch. About 9 miles from Brecon, and half a mile after Bwlch, turn right onto B4560 and drive downhill to the bridge. After about 50 yards turn left at the side of Penlan, and you will find Penlan Bach on the left. Parking is in front of the garage.

By Train

Guests travelling by train should book through to Abergavenny and it takes about two and a half hours from London Paddington with one change at Newport. Click here for train times and tickets. We are happy to buy provisions for guests who arrive by public transport – simply send us a list and leave it to us to do the shopping ready for your arrival, or book a delivery on line. Because you have chosen a self catering vacation rental it doesn’t mean that you have to shop as soon as you arrive!
