“ We really enjoyed our fortnight, the area is stunning, and we did a fair amount
of walking. Penlan Bach is by far the best self-catering we have been in due to cleanliness,
abundance of information, books, music etc as well as your friendliness and helpfulness.”

Our nearby towns. Abergavenny and Brecon are both attractive market towns and both
offer weekly markets on Tuesdays and Fridays as well as swimming, golf, cinema and
theatres.
Both have Tourist Information Centres, banks and supermarkets as well as the usual
High Street stores, cafes and restaurants. Brecon Cathedral is worth a visit and
so is Abergavenny Castle.
Crickhowell is much smaller with an interesting street full of independent shops
as well as a very good tourist information centre with a gallery exhibiting work
of local artisans.
For guests in self catering accommodation there are two very good traditional butchers
and a deli.
Nearby Hay on Wye is well known for its dozens of second hand book shops as well as the Daily Telegraph Hay Literary Festival, which is held at the end of May each year. It is an interesting market town straddling the border with England and it merits a long visit as it has antiques and crafts as well as the bookshops.
