Self-Catering Accommodation
in the Brecon Beacons National Park
Penlan Bach sleeps four in a first floor self catering holiday apartment, on the South bank of the River Usk. It has its own private entrance hall leading off the car parking area, and the stairs have a stair lift if required. It was purpose built as an addition to the owner’s cottage so the accommodation is spacious, light, and airy, and has views of the distant hills.
The large kitchen-diner is well equipped and has an electric cooker, microwave, washer, iron, dishwasher, fridge and freezer. There is ample storage space and plenty of tableware, glassware and linen. A door from the kitchen leads onto a large balcony with stairs down to the garden, and the balcony has sunshine in morning and early evening – making it a great spot for morning coffee or an early evening drink.
There is also a table and chairs permanently available for guests in the lawned garden which has sunshine all day long and a great view of the Sugar Loaf Mountain (as well as David-the-Farmer’s sheep).

Just the spot for a lazy lunch or for an afternoon with your book where no-one will bother you. The river bank can be easily accessed from the gate at the bottom of the garden.

Both bedrooms have twin beds with lots of pillows, feather duvets, and electric blankets for those cooler evenings. One bedroom has an en suite shower room and there is also a bathroom with shower over the bath as well as a separate lavatory. Lots of towels are supplied for both rooms. Both bedrooms have a hair dryer and a clock radio.

The heating at Penlan Bach is all electric and is included in the rental. Each room has separately controlled heaters, and there is double glazing and good insulation throughout. We can assure you that you won’t be cold even if your vacation is in late autumn or early spring.

The large cosy sitting room, with an extensive view down the Usk Valley, has a three piece suite, LCD television with Freeview, a DVD player and an assortment of popular DVDs. There is a radio and CD player as well as a book case filled with books for those who just want to relax on holiday.

Guests who have come for some hill walking will find our O.S. maps and walking books will enable them to plan their routes each day. There is WiFi access for those who need the internet, and we have a safe lockable shed for any bikes or large kit

If your self catering holiday plans include your dog we have more information for pet owners on our Pets Welcome sheet.
So, we have warmth, comfort, good facilities, and great views. What more can anyone want from a self catering cottage? If you do think of something we have forgotten to mention just give us a ring on 01874 730461 and we will try to help you.
